Dominican Republic

One of my first experiences outside of the United States, the Dominican Republic is an island nation rich in culture and natural beauty. While I was only eight at the time of my trip, I still remember it for its bright and sunny beaches and clear waters. Like most Caribbean countries, they put their own spin on Island cuisine.

Unfortunately due to its location, DR (along with other island nations) experience heavy hurricane seasons that cause quite a bit of damage. I would advise against traveling here between the months of August and October due to the this. Aside from Hurricanes, Dominican Republic enjoys Caribbean weather the rest of the year and makes it a paradise for many travelers.
